Asbestos is a hazardous material which requires risk accessment, safe controlled removal, packaging, transport & disposal, in order to comply with Asbestos Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations. At HAR we invest in annual asbestos training, medical audits, exposure to asbestos insurance and state of the art asbestos removal equipment to control and monitor the health risks associated with asbestos during removal, transport & disposal operations. HAR as part of the Harrington Concrete and Harrington Roofing, provides the benefit of being supported by a large portfolio of plant and safety equipment.

To comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Exposure to Asbestos) Regulations 2006-2013, HAR carry out Asbestos surveys and risk assessments to determine potential exposure levels before each individual removal task, which is then supported by a detailed site specific and generic plan of works method statement. During removal we apply specifically planned techniques, using specialist abatement equipment and suppressants to control asbestos exposure levels and ensure best practice at all times.

HAR employ a specific and annually trained asbestos abatement labour force who are specifically Insured to work with asbestos, which is required in order to comply with the Exposure to Asbestos Regulations, as only asbestos trained and certified personnel who are medically screened are permitted to work with asbestos. Each HAR employee is medically audited annually to monitor and record exposure in order to ensure best practice at all times.
